It's a phenomenon that isn't seen much anymore. It can't be denied that companies design things to eventually wear out. (Which I like to call 'calculated obsolescence') but one piece of technology that we just assume will burn out is a light bulb.
Well, it turns out today I found even a incandescent lightbulb that was designed to stand up to years of use - and as luck would have it, it's even got a webcam trained on it to boot. (though now on it's 2nd web cam since the first comically one broke down after 3 years)
